Winter energy package: Liberals and Democrats give reforms cautious welcome
The European Commission will tomorrow unveil its Winter Package, a series of legislative proposals aimed at providing clean energy for all and implementing the EU’s “Energy Union”. The eight texts expected are likely to include revisions to directives and new regulations, including rules setting EU-wide 2030 climate and energy targets, for example higher energy efficiency goals.

EU Emissions Trading Scheme: Parliament’s Industry Committee adopts ambitious reforms
The European Parliament’s Industry, Research and Energy Committee today adopted its legislative opinion on the reform of the EU’s Emissions Trading Scheme. The report, drafted by a Liberal and Democrat MEP, proposes a series of reforms to ensure the next phase of the ETS helps to deliver on the goals of the Paris agreement on climate change ratified last week and the EU’s own 2030 climate change targets.

EU Emissions Trading Scheme: Parliament’s Industry Committee adopts ambitious reforms
The European Parliament’s Industry, Research and Energy Committee today adopted its legislative opinion on the reform of the EU’s Emissions Trading Scheme. Liberal and Democrat MEP’s demand action to reduce energy use in buildings
The European Parliament has today adopted a report on an EU heating and cooling strategy, setting out proposals to reduce the use of energy in buildings. In October, the Commission will set out their proposals for the review of existing EU energy efficiency legislation.

Electricity market design: reform needed to deliver climate and energy security targets
MEPs have today adopted a report setting out the European Parliament’s position on the future design of Europe’s energy market. The report responds to the release of the European Commission’s strategy to help deliver the EU’s 2030 climate and energy targets, which will require a fundamental transformation of Europe’s electricity system including the redesign of the European electricity market.

MEPs have today adopted a report setting out the European Parliament’s position on the future design of Europe’s energy market. Cutting energy bills: Liberals and Democrats push for a “New Deal” for consumers.
The European Parliament has today adopted a report pressing for a new deal for energy consumers across the EU, to improve consumer choice, information, transparency and to increase the EU-wide deployment of ICT, which can reduce energy use and household bills.
