Verhofstadt: “EU-Turkey agreement needs fundamental changes for Parliament”
During yesterday’s meeting with Vice-President Timmermans, the European Parliament has made it clear that fundamental changes are needed in the agreement with Turkey. Parliament expressed unequivocally that the EU should not throw its principles overboard.

Poland: Venice Commision is very clear: constitutional crisis endangers rule of law, democracy and human rights
Verhofstadt: “Polish government must now publish and fully implement the verdict of the Constitutional Tribunal.”
The president of the ALDE Group in the European Parliament, Guy Verhofstadt, has today urged the Government of Poland to respect the opinion of the Venice Commission on the legal changes to the Polish Constitutional Court’ s functioning. The government has to find a solution to the constitutional crisis within the rule of law framework.
