The IMCO Committee in the European Parliament this afternoon adopted its recommendations to the European Commission for the TTIP negotiations.226 amendments were tabled to the draft opinion of Rapporteur Dita Charanzová (ALDE). The Rapporteur achieved compromises on almost all paragraphs of her draft Opinion which focus on public procurement, standards and regulatory cooperation.

Tax transparency package welcome, but much more to do.

The European Commission will tomorrow launch a new draft law obliging 28 European Union Member States to exchange information on tax deals with multinational corporations. If approved, the law would come into force on Jan. 1, 2016.
