Winter energy package: Liberals and Democrats give reforms cautious welcome
The European Commission will tomorrow unveil its Winter Package, a series of legislative proposals aimed at providing clean energy for all and implementing the EU’s “Energy Union”. The eight texts expected are likely to include revisions to directives and new regulations, including rules setting EU-wide 2030 climate and energy targets, for example higher energy efficiency goals.

EU Emissions Trading Scheme: Parliament’s Industry Committee adopts ambitious reforms
The European Parliament’s Industry, Research and Energy Committee today adopted its legislative opinion on the reform of the EU’s Emissions Trading Scheme. The report, drafted by a Liberal and Democrat MEP, proposes a series of reforms to ensure the next phase of the ETS helps to deliver on the goals of the Paris agreement on climate change ratified last week and the EU’s own 2030 climate change targets.

EU Emissions Trading Scheme: Parliament’s Industry Committee adopts ambitious reforms
The European Parliament’s Industry, Research and Energy Committee today adopted its legislative opinion on the reform of the EU’s Emissions Trading Scheme.
