2016 budget: A transitional budget before the necessary revision of the multiannual financial framework
Concerned about interinstitutional serenity and economic efficiency in these troubled and particularly difficult times for our citizens, the European Parliament, during today’s plenary session in Strasbourg, adopted the 2016 budget on the basis of the compromise reached in the conciliation meeting between the Parliamentary Committee on Budgets and the Council.

ALDE drives the change of approach on the Discharge procedure bringing the EU budget added value to the forefront
The 2014 discharge procedure was launched today in the Parliamentary Committee on the Budgetary Control (CONT) with the hearing of the Commissioner for budgets, Kristalina Georgieva, and representatives of the Court of Auditors of the European Union. Martina DLABAJOVÁ (ANO, Czech Republic), rapporteur on the 2014 discharge, does not want to limit the monitoring of the effectiveness and the quality of expenditures made under common European policies to an annual procedure but wishes to integrate it into a multi-annual monitoring process.
