Circular economy: Timmermans' rubbishes EU waste targets
The Alliance of Liberals and Democrats in Europe have today expressed their disappointment with the decision by Vice President of the European Commission, Commissioner Timmermans to re-table a much less ambitious proposal on the circular economy, after he chose to scrap draft laws supported by the European Parliament earlier this year. The European Commission’s revised proposal, which set waste and incineration targets, will outline weaker final recycling targets than its predecessor and it appears that the Commission has done some clever reshuffling.
