Cecilia Wikstrom MEP, the Coordinator for the ALDE Group on the European Parliament’s Civil Liberties Committee, has today warned Greece that it must comply with its international obligations to accept and process asylum applications from the increasing number of Syrian refugees who are risking their lives to reach Europe.

After more than two years of negotiations, tonight the European Parliament’s Civil Liberties and Employment Committees are expected to confirm the first reading agreement reached last 25 February with the Council on the intra-corporate transfers (ICTs) Directive, allowing non-EU skilled employees working for multinational companies, (namely managers, specialists or graduate trainees), to be more easily moved to EU branches or subsidiaries.
