During today’s debate about last week’s European Council, the European Liberals and Democrats have made clear that CETA must be salvaged. ALDE’s Vice-Presidents also made a passionate plea to end the deadlock in the Council.

EU–Uzbekistan textiles agreement: AFET Committee gives positive opinion on the deal following Uzbek authorities’ commitment to tackle child labour
The European Parliament’s AFET Committee has renewed the bilateral EU textiles agreement with Uzbekistan by extending its provisions, following the Uzbek authorities’ commitment to fight child labour and forced adult labour. This has been an important issue to be tackled on the ground since 2013, by one of the world’s largest cotton exporters.
