Immediate suspension of EU-US TFTP agreement necessary following latest US spying revelations
Following the latest news reports today that the US National Security Agency has been secretly tapping into personal financial data from the SWIFT database (a global financial interchange service), Sophie In’t Veld (D66, Netherlands) ALDE vice-president on Parliament’s Civil Liberties committee and a campaigner for personal data privacy is now calling on commissioner Malmström to suspend the EU-US agreement which regulates the exchange of data from the company as part of the US’ Terrorist Financial Tracking Programme.
