Verhofstadt strongly condemns MEP Mario Borghezio’s racist remarks about Italian Minister of Integration
At the request of the ALDE group, the Conference of Presidents of the European Parliament (which comprises President Schulz and all political group Presidents) discussed the insulting remarks made by Italian MEP Mario Borghezio (Lega Nord) in a recent interview for Italian radio 24, regarding the new Italian Minister for Integration Cécile Kyenge, who is of Congolese origin.
