Commenting on the votes this evening, Sylvie Goulard MEP, ALDE coordinator on the Economic and Monetary Affairs Committee said:

“All candidates are competent and committed Europeans, but we need a strong team to deal with the economic crisis and so far Juncker has failed to clarify what the tasks of the team and its members will be.”

ALDE has voted against commissioner-designate Tibor Navracsics

The Group of Liberals and Democrats for Europe (ALDE) is disappointed about the vote that took place today in the European Parliament’s Culture Committee. During that vote a majority of political groups confirmed the nomination of Hungarian Commissioner Tibor Navracsics.
